Day 17

January 24, 2011

Wow..I think it's the first day that I'm posting the picture on the actual day it was taken!

This morning was our exciting part--Kindermusik! We got our materials today, Munchkin LOVED listening to the CD on the way home. I'll have to get it downloaded onto the computer so I can get it on our iPods soon. She has quite a few shaker instruments, but that's the beauty of being 16 months old--you don't care how many you have, you love each and every one! Munchkin also loves her new book, I'm looking forward to reading it a lot with her!

Day 16

January 23, 2011

Munchkin got new sippy cups (which, coincidentally, are Munchkin brand)!! She now has ones with straws. She's doing pretty well with them but still wants to tilt them up. She'll learn!

We took Mark dinner since he's having to work through dinner this week. Poor guy was bored out of his mind because whoever was supposed to be with him decided to skip it, but at least that meant we got to spend some extra time up there with him! Munchkin LOVES loving on her Daddy!

Day 15

January 22, 2011

Pretty boring day in our house...laundry! I know you're jealous!

Day 14

January 21, 2011

Grocery shopping day!! We were lucky that there was a good rocket ship cart at the commissary (I think there are 3 rocket carts and only 1 with both seat belts functional). Let me tell you...that was the best grocery shopping experience we've had in a LONG time. Usually Munchkin gets super cranky about 1/3 of the way through the store because she gets bored. At least with these carts, she's facing the way we're facing and has the steering wheel to keep her occupied. We're very glad that the steering wheel isn't functional, she definitely needs some driving lessons!

We had a costume change (why, I don't really remember) and had a snack after Mark had to go to work. I had gotten up to get her more water and return to the living room to see her like this:

Day 13

January 20, 2011

When Munchkin woke up from her nap, she insisted that the Teddy Bear on her blanket is a Puppy. She grew very upset when I kept telling her it wasn't a Puppy, but a Teddy Bear. She'll get it one of these days!

We took Mark dinner since he's having to work late this week. Munchkin was being dramatic with her water and Mark was watching a friend play a video game.

Day 12

January 19, 2011

I was bad...I forgot my camera all day! We had a make-up Kindermusik day since we couldn't have class on Monday due to the holiday. Next it was Curves--with a pit stop at home. I forgot my money for daycare at Curves, but bonus: Mark was home! He was napping when we were home mostly, he needed it though! I worked on getting our bedroom organized and decluttered too--and finally hung pictures! My picture for the day will be what I'm reading before bed now, Jeff Dunham's autobiography (which was one of Mark's Christmas presents, but he told me I had to read it too!).

Day 11

January 18, 2011

Tuesdays are PWOC days! Munchkin now really likes her watchcare room and doesn't scream bloody murder when I leave her--only when I come back (she likes to make me think she's been so sad without me, or so she thinks I think) and today she was ready to go!!

So we get on our way to PWOC and it's the first day she's ridden front facing during the day so she can actually see what's going on! No squeals of laughter or delight, but no screams of frustration or boredom either!

Bonus picture today! :)

Day 10

January 17, 2011

**WARNING: Babies make gross things that Mommies have to clean up...today includes that!**

Munchkin woke up at 4am and I was hoping to get her into bed with me and go back to sleep for a few more hours. No such luck for us, she got sick sometime in the night. My "good morning, Mommy" was changing clothes and putting sheets in the washer.

We finally got batteries for Roomba's virtual wall. I LOVE being able to use Roomba again! Amazingly, I only had to empty/clean brushes once!! I made him clean the living room and for the very first time, he went home on his own after being satisfied the carpet was clean! Roomba: You've had a nice vacation, but it's time for you to get back to work!!

Day 9

January 16, 2011

In good Sunday fashion, we spent as much family time as we could (which wasn't much with Mark's work this weekend!) Mark and Munchkin enjoyed having a little tickle-fight...I think Munchkin won.

Mark has been wanting to make some homemade cinnamon bread ever since we got home from our Christmas vacation (he bought a loaf pan), so I found a recipe and printed it for him. He hasn't had time to make it, so I said I would. I finally did yesterday--and never again. It was a pain in the booty and bread-making isn't high on my love-to-do list. I wasn't super impressed with how it tasted, but Mark loved it.

Day 8

January 15, 2011

We did a lot of running around and stopped for lunch at our favorite burger place: Fatboy and Skinny's.

I made pizza for dinner, which is one of Munchkin's favorites (she really loves anything with sauce). It's also a dinner that guarantees that she gets a bath before bed!!

Bonus picture today:
Lightning heard Mark call to tell me he was on his way home (yes, Lightning knows Mark's ringtone!) so I opened the door. Lightning had to wait at the door until he got home. Munchkin usually waits with him, but she was still busy making a huge mess with her pizza!

Day 7

Hey, we're a week in!!

January 14, 2011

It was another Curves day! I wore my skirt from Skirt Sports for the first time (other than around the house) and loved it! The skirt itself has "spankies" built in, but that's not enough coverage for me at Curves, so I put on my capris under it! The capris are a little big, so I'm going to alter them a little and make them fit better and more smoothly under the skirt.

A night for Christmas presents: I made beef stew for dinner (yum!) in our new Dutch oven and since I'm paranoid about burning myself on the oven, I used the oven stick (for lack of a better name--it's shorter and easier than oven rack push-puller thingie) to move the rack!

Day 6

January 13, 2011

I got up and went to Curves and did the Zumba class. We all felt ridiculous (and looked pretty ridiculous) but it was a good workout and it was fun! Munchkin got to watch us and I swear she laughed at me a few times.

We spent the rest of our day playing around the house, but the highlight of Munchkin's day was when Daddy came home!! She was SO excited! Even better, he immediately got down and started playing with her. She was in hog heaven! They played with her shape sorter and she got quite a few in all by herself (Daddy did show her where to put them most of the time, but she got a few on her own and probably would've gotten more if she was by herself!)

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Day 5

January 12, 2011

Munchkin watched "Strawberry Shortcake: The Sweet Dreams Movie and loved when Cupcake & Custard were on!

Munchkin started playing with one of Mark's shoes. She had it one, but I wasn't fast enough for a picture. She did go put it away though, and put it away perfectly! She was so excited and clapped for herself when she got it back just right!

Day 4

January 11, 2011

PWOC Spring Kick-Off! New Bible studies start next week and this was our opening program day and the day we get to sign up for our classes! I chose "Love & Respect" this semester because I've read the book and really enjoyed it. I think that it will be very beneficial to get other people's opinions on it as well as use the workbook that we'll get with it. I'm also extremely interested in marriage related things like this in an academic way too.

When we got home, Picerne had put out nice "Winter Weather Warnings". Silly Southerners afraid of a little cold weather!

Day 3

January 10, 2011

Our car hit a cool odometer reading...(sorry it's fuzzy, my camera has a hard time focusing that close and if I pull it back you can't read it)

On the way to Kindermusik, Munchkin fell asleep and I had to wake her up when it was time to go inside!

Day 2

January 9, 2011

A pretty boring Sunday around here, Mark played his new Call of Duty: Black Ops that he got for Christmas and Munchkin and I played around. Biggest thing we did....go to bed!

When we were home for Christmas, Mark's dad handed me a monster of a book...Stephen King's "Under The Dome". It is amazing. I have to fight to put it down every night and can't wait to get through more!

Day 1

Let's finally get this going!

January 8, 2011

I kicked Mark & Munchkin out of the house so that I could clean without her being a little tornado of destruction behind me. They had great fun together and I got a lot accomplished!

Of course with cleaning comes laundry...but I do have to say my washer and dryer make me smile! The Uppercase Living "love" on the washer is to remind me WHY I do the laundry, not that I love doing the laundry (although with this washer and dryer, that part is easy, it's the putting away that gets me).

Stopping the moments

I'm attempting Project 365 again this year, last year I got up until the point when Mark got home, so about a month and a half! Borrowing an idea from a friend, I looked into quotes about photography for inspiration for the title of my blog, and this one caught me: A good snapshot stops a moment from running away. ~Eudora Welty

That is exactly what I want to accomplish this year...I want to stop the moments from running away, so we can look back on 2011 throughout the years.
